Aging 13 to 18
Hey everyone,

Is there an option or mod to speed up aging from 13 to 18 and then after that just use the normal vanilla aging speed? It is a bit annoying for me if I want to play with colonists children as you end up with a bunch of teenagers that are too young to romance.

How is it creepy? It is a legit harmless question. You're the one thinking weird stuff.

If you have Biotech then it's a slider in the custom difficulty settings, you can adjust it at any point in the game.

If I'm not mistaken the slider affects only up to 13 no? After that If I change aging speed it'll affect everyone right?

Currently the game curves the speedup time from your aging settings until they reach 18.5 years of age. 16 years old is when a colonist can begin romancing and the age they are capable of having kids, however they don't reach 100% fertility till 18. There is a also a slightly increased chance something can go wrong during birth until 20.

So from 13 - 13.1 with an aging speed of 400% would then turn into 392% at 14 they would be aging at 327%. (400%/5.5)*(18.5-CurrentAge) is how you would calculate that.

Ages 11 to 20 are a transitional period where aging gradually slows down from child aging speeds to normal aging. Increasing child aging speed will also increase the speed pawns in the 13-18 range age to a degree. As far as romance in the game, they only need to reach 16, which is still accelerated a fair bit compared to the tail-end of 20 where it's almost normal adult speed.

Where did you get 11 - 20 I believe it begins after 13 that the curve slows down but I could be wrong I also believe 18.5 is where the curve reaches 0.

You can also shove them in a vat for 13-18 with no serious consequences, since they're done with all that childhood development.

From the wiki. I believe it's been adjusted a bit since I last played so I haven't tested it myself. I had originally typed 13-18 myself before checking the wiki and then changing my post to 11-20.

https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Children#Age

I know the Ageless gene freezes aging at 18.5.
