How to stop myself from loading saves
I play on commitment mode, and when i lose a fight or a colonist dies i just close rimworld a re-open so it loads up the most recent save. How do i stop myself from doing this?

I would highly suggest reloading frequently while learning the game. Commitment mode makes sense when you have a strong understanding of the mechanics and the occasional death is part of the story, but it doesn't make a lot of sense when people are dying constantly as you figure out game mechanics like how to cook insect meat. Something bad happens, reload and try a different approach until you figure out how to prevent that thing from happening again in most cases. To that end I would suggest saving at the beginning of a raid for example, so you can keep trying that specific raid using different strategies, rather than loading a previous autosave and getting a different event.
i will do this but i cant change it from commitment mode, where do i change it?

I'm pretty sure if you start a save on commitment you can't turn it off. It's a permanent decision on game start. So it would be something to adjust for a new save. There might be a mod that allows it, but I don't know.

I stay commited up until a breach raid comes knocking on my walls and feels like nothing can be done about it, then it becomes semi-commitment

Does the 1.3 mod on the previous page work for 1.4 ? Could be a really useful addition

eh...this is a you problem, so try to train some discipline or something?
Otherwise no matter what mod you use, you will just find a way to bypass it again anyway.

Thanks. Think I'll try the first one, Save on incident doesn't seem to save on death

Self control? Or just stop playing on commitment mode and play however is fun for you. If reloading saves is fun for you, then have at it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Don't force yourself to play a certain way because someone else tells you it's the "right" way to play. It's a single player game, so nobody else is effected by it.
