Muffalo vs. Alpaca vs. Horse
I am a bit confused.
i loved muffalo because they gave Milk + wool. Also i like their light-grey wool.
But now, it seems muffalos seem irrelevant?

Only you can determine what is irrelevant. The animals are not crested equal.

yea - but in old vanilla the muffalo gave slower wool but also milk. So you, if you have a small village with like 4-6 people, muffalos where high value because you dont need 2 animals to herd = less space.

But now it seems you always need 2 diff. animals or more if you want to go into farming with animals

It somewhat depends. Eventually, the wool isn't going to be as useful as plain cloth, and if you're going to deviate from that, you probably want to go devilstrand. If you're not dealing with freezing temps, then you don't need the wool. That said, that doesn't mean that anything is going to replace the utility of the horse. I used to trade a lot, but now it's hard for me to stand the caravaning process. Generally speaking, personally, if I need animals, it's for transit. You can mod the old muffalos back in if you want the old version.

Muffalo used to give 16 milk every 2 days.
Cows give 14 milk every 1 day

Muffalo used to give 100 wool every 25 days
Muffalo now give 120 wool every 15 days

Their milk amount was removed and their wool amount doubled. You don't need any extra animals, muffalo did not save space before since they were half as effective at each thing. Muffalo are now a very good wool animal, providing significantly more wool per day than alpacas or sheep. Alpacas have more valuable wool though, and sheep eat less food to produce wool, each has some advantage.

Horses are better for meat generation, and caravan movement.

If you're looking at carrying capacity... it's horses, then muffs, then alpaca, as I recall. Muffs are great now, but if I had to chose just one (in general) prolly go with the horses. Altho my time in the boreal forests definitely makes me see the value of good wool for clothing.

With all the ways to make food... milk is just one of those that seems too high maintenance for its own good. I can think of soooo many situations where I sell my milkable animals, and suddenly I see a massive increase in general productivity. Milking/shearing takes a fair amount of time. Gimme a field of corn instead, thankyouverymuch.

I've all but stopped ranching as well. I'll keep a couple horses for the caravan speed, but that's mostly it. I do have a guinea pig farm going, but that's mostly just a fps test.

It is nice to have some of the wools for their insulation especially on the real cold maps, but aside from that I've feel like it's more of a time sink than anything. I suppose if you have a good animals person that can't do anything else it's better than having them idle.
