Body mods & toes on a Sanguophage
I tried some vamps for this run. Now this I like. Prolly OP too. Their healing rate is insane.

One of my vamps is a doc and a mechanitor. Her partner can build/dig anything... but lacks the bots for back up. So I thought maybe I could install a few body mods... I put in some armor skin... and a nuclear tummy (can't get cancer if you're already 'dead'). And I got one of those elbow knife thingies from Royalty... but I got to wondering.

If I were to put an archo arm on her... then that arm wouldn't heal like the rest of her, right? Would the elbow knife thingie.... which doesn't appear to 'replace' anything, just augment it... if that were to get destroyed would it leave a hole/injury she couldn't heal?

Lastly... can vamps get fingers/toes back? Or am I gonna need a biosculpter for that?

I don't think healing rate affects bionic parts, they'll still heal but not at that speed. The only way to destroy the elbow blade would be to destroy the arm, so that would be an injury. Lost fingers/toes do not grow back either, you'll need the biosculptor for that.

Right. So replacing a piece of a vamp is bad. I kinda suspected that was the case... but the idea of a vamp with a nuclear tummy was just too juicy to pass on.

Sucks about the fingers. I guess fingers/toes are the vampire's achille's heel, eh? I've never run a biosculpt bioregen on a non-transhuman. 25 DAYS! Oi. I guess I just accept it... and wait a few years once I've got enough vamps to lose one for that time period. Which kinda makes some sense... space vampires regenerating fingers & toes in vat of biogel.

It's not just fingers and toes... body parts that are missing in general are a problem for vampires, sorry, sanguophages. Scars and age-related issues get healed no problem, but when a scyther takes off that arm of yours - well, now you have a problem! Sanguophages can only heal damaged body parts, not regrow missing ones.
Oh and another thing i learned: Be careful if you put stuff in their brains (or pawns in general). One EMP grenade - even if you throw them - your pawn gets downed and is unconscious instantly, because their brain implant just shuts down.

I just ended a vampire-themed playthrough. Only sanguophages and for every one of them I could use one other "guardian" pawn. The vampires could only use melee weapons, their guardians were allowed ranged as well.
And boy, oh boy... a sanguophage with the tough trait and a melee specialty absolutely wrecks face! It worked really great giving them archotech or even just bionic legs to get them into the action more quickly. Absolutely great fun!

Huh. Good point. I had not considered limb loss. Yea.. so far, my vamps are "wrecking"... no doubt. And (from my perspective) one of the best parts about 'em is they're great for post-battle clean up, coag that guy... capture him... oh, are your wounds healed? great! now go do this, 'cuz you rarely "need" sleep badly.. etc.

I started with two females, they're both vamps for a while. With some good luck I was able to get two little girls (w some slave help) and grew 'em in the vat. They're both about 3-4 now. I've got a one-armed female pig doin' research (never tell a vamp her hat is the wrong color), and a female yt---erm.. wookie doin' animals. I'm doin' a bloodsucker Ideo, but planned to add female primacy when the time is right, and I guess now I'm adding transhuman to it as well. Huh, maybe transhuman first... get my paster goin' again. Woot!

Heh. And the best part. I've been collecting xenogenes for the men, and I swear Cassandra's in on the joke. I've gotten this combo for the men: smokeleaf resistant, happy, great cooking, violence disabled, awful medical. Gives 'em a flat metabolism. Now I just need to decide if I wanna automate the hemogen extraction (via mod) or just remember it all the time... :)

Wow. Transhuman was definitely the way to go. Once I got over that initial "I wanna neurocharger!" stuff, and finally got neurochargers and more importantly sleep accelerators! A vamp on a sleep accelerator is crazy good! The paster is working again... and I'm gonna be really well-prepped for the female primacy change.
