Burning tainted clothing
So I'm rather new to Rimworld but i have built up a nice big base of operations. Now that I have sustainability, my new problem is all the tainted clothes I took from corpses when I didnt have anything else is piling up my storage room. I have tried burning then and putting them in separate storage areas, but I cant seem to get my pawns to interact with them. Could you guys give me a pointer or your storage/crematorium settings? I would really appreciate it.

The bill should be a "Burn apparel" in the crematorium. Just make sure it's set for tainted clothing and not fresh clothing, and there is no bill range. Set it to "do forever."

Alternatively, stop stripping corpses. Just chuck em in the furnace fully clothed.

Edit: make a new stone floored/walled "courtyard" with no roof. Add a stockpile zone specifically for tainted clothes. Toss in a molotov cocktail and forbid the door.

You have to set your fireplace to "burn apparel" or something like that. And yes fireplace, not crematorium, you can build a fireplace nice and close to your stockpile and burn it all very efficiently then just not refuel the fireplace again until you need to.

That takes too long, though I have built an outside stockpile next to my fireplace with drums to utilise the fact that it was already set up as a ritual location.

I just leave them in water, they deteriorate fast enough that the stockpile never gets full

If you want to burn them just build an enclosed room with stone, make it a stockpile and let it get full, then throw a molotov in there and forbid the door while everything burns. You can also get rid of tribal weapons that way

Go to bill on a campfire, choose burn clothes, press details, deselect everything except ‘tainted clothing’, right click work at campfire as a priority.

I like to set the same for clothes under 50% or so then make new ones so they get rid of their tatty apparel

So destroying stuff asap is always preferable.

10% multiplier for being tainted and another variable one from being damaged and following advise on wiki sounds about right:
Rotten corpses and damaged clothes are worth single-digit numbers of wealth. Fresh corpses are worth a fair amount, about 200/corpse, which is relevant for large raids back-to-back.
Normal devilstrand parka as tainted 49% health is valued $4,59. Base value was $469.
Gonna need a ship sized dump truck to explode on your map for it to have an impact, but then you might just be at the cap anyway already.
