Refugee betrayal chance (and how to predict it)
So i am wondering what makes them to betray. Is it pre-rolled when the quest spawns? If so, can you predict that they are likely to betray you? What are the rules that they will never betray you (if these rules exist). Because i do believe you can predict it by looking at their back history but i cannot confirm it

It's rng, and it's decided once you accept the quest, so the way you treat the refugees does not matter.

If by the halfway point of their stay you do not get a message to betray them. You can safely assume they will betray you. Also if they have kids with them they will never betray you.

You sure? I'm pretty sure kids were able to betray you at some point. There is a mod to prevent that, but is it a vanilla feature now?

I always make them drop all their weapons the second they join the map. Just to be safe.

Pretty stupid for them to betray me with no weapons and no plan. Suicidal Rimworlders.

A kid can betray you for sure. I remember naked brutality, i was naked and kid on floor sleeping next to my bed with knife stabbed my pawn few times.
And i also got moodle that child has died in my colony when i killed it which is harsh moodle debuff even tho he left colony to attack me...
Neadless to say, the colony fell apart real soon after that, never thrust children in apocalypse.

I know I read it in one of the recent patch notes about kids not being able to betray you, but I guess I remembered it incorrectly.

The actual patch notes say this...
If child enemies are disabled in the storyteller settings, refugees with children will not betray and attack (because that makes children your enemy). We reduced the chance of children spawning in refugee hospitality quests to mitigate balance impact of this.

So, I was only correct if you have child raiders disabled. If enabled they can still betray you.

Thanks for the answers (tho i don't have the last dlc). For some reasons i thought you can predict their intentions but apparently it's just random
