"Pawn already has the baseliner Xenotype" - I've seen similar things before while modding. But that was with C# code I wrote myself. I don't think it was just my code though, I'm fairly sure I was doing something weird. I can't remember what I did exactly, but my code never changed yet it started working when I restarted the game and made new pawns.
Oh, actually I just saw Rimworld updated 12 hours ago. Maybe something changed, or possibly your save was broken.
Well, I use no mods
And also just tested with old and new saves - nope, still broken, and makes even less sense after the tests.
I used gene implant with custom xenotype with no xenogenes (allendogenes) on baselender - does nothing but causes gene regrowing and gene coma
Used gene implant with custom xenotype WITH xenogenes - and it says "Pawn already has the baseliner Xenotype"
And THEN I tried implant genes with sanguophage to custom pawn - and it say's they're already of that xenotype, which... no, they're not, game!!
I KINDA start to see what is wrong? I think game just fails to see and determine which is what. Since custom xenogenes applies to baseliner endogenes - game just sees them as simple basliner. But with custom endogenes - it makes it useless, since you can implant endogenes.
It's all just... so confusing and clearly broken.
On side note - beards are also still broken.
Put a pawn into prison with the xenogene you want.
Knock that pawn out.
Then force embed the xenogenes of the downed pawn into the pawn you want to have the xenogenes.
Let's test it myself. I would still like for devs to fix that, but if they'll not - better that workaround way than no way.
Sadly - it doesn't work still. It says "Cannot absorb (pawns) xenogerm: (absorber) is already baseliner. It's clearly not, game.
Yeah, something must be broken - sanguophage can't absorb their genes either, because "pawn is already a sanguophage"
So the game thinks pawn with custom xenogenes is BOTH baseliner AND sanguophage. Not right indeed
Nope - all the new save files
All that happens on new saves. Can't test on old ones - since I have no gene-implant gene on custom pawns.
At most what I can do is try to apply sanguophage on custom pawn made during the run, and...
Nope, can't gene-implant. Says "Pawn is already (custom xenogerm)".
Have you tried deleting the game and reinstalling it? Verifying the game should have done the same thing, but you never know.
Except I use no mods
I tried verifying the files before - didn't help
