Many old monarchies used to in order to keep power in the family. That said, it wasn't acceptable for anyone else in those times. I'm sure there were some cultures were it was widely accepted, but not in most of those European monarchies that had kings and queens who were also siblings.

Game of Thrones alluded to that setup a lot. A royal family that ruled for a long time with incest, but all of the populations thought it was icky.

Sounds like it would be a good Vanilla Expanded Factions Medieval addition or Ideology addon. There are honestly a number of mod options I have already seen that add this also.

Not sure that Ludeon would be doing themselves any favors adding it to base game though, since they already have such strict scrutiny about the sale of the game in some regions!

Funny how in a game that allows child labor, cannibalism, rampant murder, and the complete dissolution of moral fiber, that incest is where people draw the line. That being said I think there may be some rules on Steam that might forbid such content in a base game, but it's definitely possible as a mod I'm sure.

I for one would love such a mod as well. Would make ideologies a lot more interesting for sure.

Everything you mentioned is fairly common functions in games (child labor less so). I guess it depends on where you draw the line in what is considered "fun".

It's a good thing that most people can't manage to find the fun in pretend incest.

I think this might maybe be very rarely possible in vanilla? I definitely had a brother and sister generate in a relationship with each other at one point and the other pawns in my colony all hated them because "incestuous" gives a massive social penalty
