Best Source of Nutrition for Growth Vats etc... (Nutrition Conversion)
If your quantity of Hay is great, is Kibble the most efficient nutrition source for things like growth vats and biosculptor pods? SImple meals are always better than raw foods right because you go from .5 to .9? If you ignore Hay, then Kibble is like .5 to 1.25?

Actually, I thought pemmican was the most efficent food, considering someone only eats exactly what they need for nutrition.

thats efficient in terms of eating what is needed to satisfy hunger. OP is talking about nutrient efficiency in terms of prepared items (0.5 nutrition worth of ingredients making a 0.9 nutrition simple meal in the example).

pemmican aint bad though, 0.25 each of meat and veg make 0.8 nutrition of pemmican,

I see, thank you.

I'm just putting this out there, but raiders are a renewable resource. Their survival rate is often less than 100%. They contain nutrition. Do with this information as you will.

Do people carry paste to it like they do with prisoners?

According to the wiki, nutrient paste is the most efficient because it triples the nutrition from raw food but it requires some micromanaging to get it to dispense multiple meals. The mod "Nutrient Paste Dispenser Command" lets you make the dispenser create meals without the micromanaging.

Then there's baby food which doubles nutrition from raw, makes 10 units so there's no wasting (kind of like how pemmican works), trains cooking, and baby food lasts longer than paste or simple meals so you can easily keep it in stock. Also, it can be used to feed the baby as soon as they come out of the vat. The only downside is you can only make it from vegetables and can't use meat.

The third most efficient would be simple meals which is 1.8x nutrition from raw, so it's just a little less than baby food.
