Anyone care to explain how to install mods from github?

Just download the zip file from that page. Click on the big green button that says "CODE".

Otherwise you can also install a git client and pull the files.

Easy way is to have your terminal open and just
cd $HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/RimWorld/Mods git clone https://github.com/kbatbouta/CAI-5000.git
, assuming you have git installed.
For the use-a-GUI-and-move-files-around way, go to your link, Code > Download ZIP and extract it somewhere in that same local mods directory.
