I can't Haul dead animals
For some odd reason whenever I go hunting, when my colonist kills the animal he won't haul it and bring it back to storage, he just leaves it there, and I can't do it manually becuase it says there is no empty place to store it even know I have a storage space with plenty of room. Can anyone help?

you don't have enabled corpses in your storage place. OR the animals are already rotten and you have not allowed rotten to be stored.

Is the storage space configured to accept dead bodies? By default stockpiles do not accept bodies, rock chuncks and such.

check if there is allowed coprse and it is right combination of rotten\non-rotten

For a quick stockpile that will definitely be ready to hold any non-rotten animal corpse just place a dumping stockpile (button next to regular stockpile)

There is actually no difference between the two, but the dumping stockpile comes with the storage settings to accept corpses, metal slag, and rock chunks.

One other thing, make sure whichever colonist you are attempting to haul has access (via zones) to both the corpse and the stockpile.

Follow up for anyone late to the game such as myself:
If you've set shelves to accept corpses but not the storage area the shelves are in then the game blocks the shelves by proxy.

I don't think that's right anymore Lasagna. When I create a shelf, it removes the zone from under those squares. I think shelves are their own zone. Unless you create a zone first and it inherits something hidden when you create the shelf, but the squares the shelf are on do not show as if they are in the zone when I select the zone.

I don't know what this is, I know the game was working the way it should before, and 90% sure when I had 'Common Sense' installed. I'll try removing that mod and see if it helps.

Not sure what problem you think you are having, but it's probably unrelated to this 7 year old thread.

Shelves can't store large corpses, and they are indeed their own independent storage zone. You can link shelves together though.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
