This looks like Prison Architect, are you the same developers or what?
Looks good.

I'm not a kickstarter backer btw, just a long term follower. It's a different developer and it also runs on a different engine. However, the dev of Rimworld has already mentioned that he took his inspiration from Prison Architect.

From the Kickstarter Page: "It looks a lot like Prison Architect. What's up with that?

Blame my (Tynan's) lack of art skill - especially with characters. I made the character art you see in the trailer as a stopgap, and borrowed the Prison Architect style because I'm not a good enough artist to develop a new one. They were never intended to be final. With this Kickstarter, we'll be able to get a real artist who can sit down and develop an original style for RimWorld.

I've talked with the original Prison Architect artist, Ryan Sumo, and he's fully supportive of RimWorld. We didn't share any art or code with the PA guys."

TL:DR: Dev took PA art as inspiration since he isn't a good artist himself and the PA guys seems to be cool with it.

Ah that's good. Do you know the price when it will get released as well? xD

It's gonna be $30 as base price and then the usual currency prices based on your region.

You'll have to wait and see, Tynan can't, per valve policies, explicitly promise purchasers will get a Key, as it's against their policy to promise or offer steam keys to a game that isn't yet on steam.

Too bad that the prison-architect-style isn't the final (like it) I would probably have bought then instantly, but now I will probably hold off until I see which direction it takes in terms of graphics (hopefully not a bad execution of 3d-ish)

I am pretty sure it is. It ended up growing on the community. I know something was posted about it since then (kickstarter was 2+ years ago).

It's had the same style for the past 2 years and I think most fans of the game would scream their heads off if it changed.

Yeah I'd bet a lot of money that the graphics will not be changing. But, even as the dev always says, who knows what the future will hold.
