Set your home area to where the fire is, have firefighting priority to 1, gg, you put out the fire.
Kodaxmax Aug 23, 2016 @ 2:46am
fire always priority 1.

Get it whilst its small, if it gets to big ur ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Also make fire breaks around important zones.

Surround your base by two or three tiles of concrete. Fire won't be able to spread past it.
Daniel Aug 23, 2016 @ 3:03am
if you have no stone or anything, and if by example you have only wall in wood, you can use the thing evrywhere on the ground in your map, by example, take the piece of rock everywhere on the ground and put it around your base, like this the fire will not be able to reach you,

i think the fire can jump from 3 tile, so make sure to put piece of rock on 3 tiles beside you wood wall, like this the fire never catch you, and if it's happend they send a small fire on a wall it's will be more easy to stop the fire...,

oh!, and don't use metal junk, the metal burn...

and try to not put rock in front of your door, because ennemy can use it as cover, or put only one and make sure to be the first they go hiding behing if it's the only place you can hide, it's give only 40% of cover to be behing a piece of rock but it's better than nothing...

to put rock around your base, just need to make a junk field around your wall they have 3 tile wide and when the field are full, just delete it and the stonewill be always there...

Kind of exploitive, but wood floors don't burn. So just like the above suggestion of concrete, but with a renewable resource.

A15 flat out tells you make a fire break use stone tiles 3-4 wide outside the base you don't even need stone wall and I think costs less stone. You can do it by deconstructing all the ruinds on the map as well, just watch out for ones that give you the ancient danger message :p

Yeah.. use anything but wood or steel for the outside of your buildings and where your power conduits run or you will suffer.

Funny, all i've used is wood and i've never had a real problem the only places i heavily use stone is for hospitals and battery storage.

for hospital you should use sterile floor for less surgery fails.

how can a fire start in the freezer?
dont store your batteries in there and layout your powercables under walls.

A Pyro go in there?

Firefoam is your friend. Research it quickly. Build a couple and leave them uninstalled in key areas around your base. When a fire breaks out, you drop it by the fire and set it off. In the case of the freezer fire, you should just leave one in the freezer. The fire will set it off automatically, or it's very likely your cook will be nearby and can do it.

For Flashstorms, a fire-barrier, as described already, is your best bet. If you're in a mountainous region, you can just fight the fire at a choke point, keep it from spreading at your base.

Mostly, you'll want a couple uninstalled fire-foams near your defensive walls and most likely enemy contact points in those instances some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bring molotovs/flamethrower on their raid. So much heartache can be avoided with a single, well-placed fire-foam popper.

Once you've got 4-5 colonists who can fight fires, you can put out a lot of fire quickly. As said before, Firefighting should be top priority for everyone capable, even old Skippy with his Bad Back and Peg-legs.

If you have a pyro (I do), it warns you when they go on a psychotic break. Two people should immediately be drafted and brought to the pyro's side. Then, as they start fires, un-draft them long enough to put out the fires (they should do this automatically at priority 1), then draft them again, using them to babysit. I recommend 2 colonists to the pyro, in case the pyro runs down the hall and starts another fire quickly somewhere else. It's really easy to maintain.
