Click on the stockpile, and then hit the button labeled "Storage" in the lower left of the screen.

From there you can control what is in that stockpile.

Note: if you don't have any open areas of the stockpile, just slowly click twice on any item in the stockpile. Once the stockpile is selected it will say the stockpiles name in the lower left, and give you copy/paste/delete options + that "Storage" button you need.

Note: you can also select the priority of the stockpile once you hit the storage button. What this does is if there are multiple stockpiles accepting the same items, it prioritzes which stockpile to fill first. If they are the same priority level, the pawns will fill the closest stockpile to the location they pick up an item.

You can manually optionalize the stock pile if you click on it on the top left corner you can set the priority status if you set it to critical your colonists to prioritize that stockpile over all stock piles. If you click "Clear All" and turn on "Allow Rotten" and "Foods" your colonists should handle that problem.

I would like to have way to manage amount of items in stockpile. Like "max 500 potatoes, 500 corn". I find myself always overproducing something and it makes it hard to have enough room for lesser produced items.

Just expand your freezer or make a second freezer. Overproducing foods is a good thing and it has some benefits like you don't have to worry about food being scarce, you need food for your colonists, prisoners, etc.

One way to micromanage overproduction of veggies and such is to make multiple small fields for each veg rather than one huge one for each. Then if you're producing too much of a resource, you can turn off Allow Sowing to some of the fields to lower their output for a while and then turn them back on if things start getting scarce again.

Also at this stage of the game development your settlers don't YET have a preference like they do in Dwarf Fortress for "getting tired of the same ♥♥♥♥ over and over", so you could simply produce nothing but rice, the fastest crop to grow in the game (especially in greenhouses).

Raw veggies last a long time out of the fridge, just keep them indoors in a seperate storage place and keep cooked stuff and meat in the fridge
