Some explain to me animal inbreeding in detail.
1.) If I have 4 female turkeys and 1 male turkey that mates with all of them. Will any of the offspring mate with each other?

2.) If I have the same 4 females mate with a NEW male turkey, will those offspring mate with the offspring of a different male but same female?
Let me know if you guys need charts and drawings to understand this better.

One adult male is all you need with as many adult females as you can.
Better to have 2 or 3 males just in case.

Juveniles obviously dont mate.

Animals dont care about incest, so when adults, any male can mate any female.

You need both sex to be to be tamed, a tamed female wont do anything with a savage male near her.

I dinlt know that this is true. There is a mod that allows for animal inbreeding, so I suspect that it wouldnt be around if it was allowed in the regular game.

It's a "Fluffy" mod called Animal Incest.

The incest part, cant be sure as i dont track down who mate who, still, i keep at most 2 males for 10+ females and all mate like crazy and i assume everyone is related at some point.

In the Other section close to the end of the page you can see part of the changelog says that animals don't do incest and that colonists now do incest.

I just need a more detailed explanation of what a animal family is.

In my experience breeding dogs the original male will not breed with the female offspring even at adult stage. As the op suggested I bring in a new male every so often so that it will breed with all females (I trade away male offspring).

But will the offspring of two different females mate with each other?

If they have the same father, no. As far as I know, if animals have similar ancestry, they won't breed, period. If there's a point where generations are far enough removed to allow breeding in spite of one common ancestor, I'm not aware of it. Animal breeding is simply a pain in the ass and not worth the effort to concern yourself with more than one generation.

If you want to breed animals, use

Otherwise it really is just very tedious.

I think i kind of like the tedium. But then again I've been losing and playing on permadeath since I first got it a few weeks back. I like the stories that each of my colony downfalls create. So far I'm the furthest I've ever gone which is a little over a year in. I just now need to know that i have to micro manage zones to decide who gets to mate with who.

In my experience, a horny male dog will hump any female, related or otherwise, and also your leg, your truck tire, and the arm of the couch.
