Short-circuits happen way too often
Every 2 days, I get a wire short-circuits, a failure in an electronic component or batteries short-circuits. Two of those problems start a fire. Wtf? Do you really think every 5 days a solar panel break? That wouldn't be cost effective. Same thing for the wires.

I play the classic event generator at the rough difficulty.

Is it during rain time ? Cause if the answer's yes, then you should buil roof area above all your electronic component !

Yes and no.

Sometimes it happens during rain time but so far those short-circuits make an explosion from a roofed wood wall.

On my side it's hapend more of the time when all my bettery are at full charge from a moment and the energy continue to try to enter into the battery and after a time BOOM!, electric wire explode, now i play with the energy, and i have no problem since this time...,

by example, you can build just enought battery to keep the energy but make sure the energy fill never all the battery to a top level...

make sure to have a people they have the reparation in priority, like this if a mecanical thing have a problem they go fix it before a problem,

but the best way it's to make a valve they cut the power comming from solar pannel or other energy power, like this you can cut all the energy they enter in the base and open it again if you begin to miss energy,

or you can put a valve to each thing they produce energy, and like this you can play wit multiple device to adjust the power they go into the battery,

by example, in my test, i use solar panel, wind turbine and an electrical sytem they work with wood..., for the electric system they work with wood, they have already a switch on it you can put on and off, more of the time i use it for the night when i view my battery are low, for the wind turbine, i use a valve on the wire, same for the solar pannel because they have no switch on it, and if by example an eclipse come, i start the wind turbine an the electical power they work with wood, when the eclipse are finished, and the sun put the energy of my solar panel to full capacity, i close the other..., and if the battery are full i close all for a small time...,

since i make this, i have no problem of electricity they explode, but yes, sometime when an urgency come i forget to watch it, and it's can happend sometime BOOM!..., opppsss!!!, i forget to close the valve and i need to go helping the people inside they dancing because they are in fire ha ha ha..., but they have more possibility, such as building separate system for each part of the base, or building so much battery it's will be impossible to make blowing the system, but it's depending of each player choice...

It is an event that occurs when batteries are full. Pretty sure the more full batteries the better the chance of a short circuit and the bigger the boom. I tend to do them in small rooms with 4-5 batteries each and a switch so I can fill them then switch them off for emergencies. If they are off there is no chance of a short and a simple flick and you are back in business if you have a sudden shortage.

that is correct

Zzzzt... event is why I don't use any wires. You don't really need them, if you design your base around your power thingies. This is my latest base.

its an event, and it can happen evertime (unless you have no or empty batteries.

Dunno, since I went wireless I haven't had a single short circuit event and I have played over 20 (game) years. Before when I was using wires, I did get them occasionally.

Either I have been very lucky or that event might need wires or maybe event takes account wire length too or something that my way of doing things eliminates or minimizes.

yeah it looks good. but for my defense setup its not possible. i always have a single backup batterie for the case enemy attacking and no energie ist left.

Awesome ahah

If you aren't adverse to mods, there is a simple and realistic mod that adds fuses to reduce the impact of the events. Which honestly should be in anyway.

This is the design intent indeed. However, the code only discards the event if every single battery is below 5%. As long as any battery is above that, the whole connected network has a chance to discharge and do damage proportional to the sum of stored charge.

Indeed. If you have zero batteries or zero wiring, the event will never fire. The short circuit event will only cause an explosion in a random piece of power conduit.

Rt fuses mod fixes this stupid event into something realistic. If you have no batteries it also will never fire... kinda stupid but whatever
