What the most efficient place to put a research table?

Indoors, out doors, some carpet, clean, lighting and tempurature
do any of those make a difference? and roughly how much?

They don't make a difference to the research itself but the colonist doing the research will be there a significant portion of their day so make it pretty and not cramped and give them a nice comfy chair and they will thank you by not going ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy and setting your crops on fire. :p

put a chair in front of it.. that was one of the best pieces of advice i've ever gotten.

Also i haven't proved it myself, but i've heard that the size of the room and it's cleanliness have something to with research speed.

If you click on the information of the research table and there on one of the stats it tells you the effectivnes.
it should be indoors and the room must be as clean possible!

the other point as mentioned is the mood of the researcher. the higher the better the research speed. or workspeed. there are a few factors.

yeah just a chair.. makes your pawn most comfortable (untill the next chair upgrade)
