Thinking of buying the game but...

Well, let's get one thing straight right away...

I am running version 0.14.1234 that I downloaded a few hours ago. Yes, spare me your moral agenda please. Normally I never do this but there have been a serious surge of indie titles I've wanted to explore but there are conditions that prevents me from doing so. Pixel art at higher resolutions without options to change it has made me somewhat wery. Instead of straight out buying the game I wanted to see if I'm even able to play it. Eyesight is quite severe and thus require larger fonts and whatnot. I've been watching several youtubers play the game all using the same resolution (1920x1080) and there is not a chance that will ever work. This along with the lack of demos (I really do miss the times that was a thing.)

On the plus side the game runs in borderless mode which is huge! That alone allows you to use external tools for zoom. However it is a pain doing so to be honest. I have a custom resolution option made (Nvidia drivers) 1280x720 that normally works fine but the game does not respect this resolution nor can you even set it! It lists a bunch of 4:3, 16:10 and 16:9... Weird! So.. Fine, let's pick a resolution that isn't using the right aspect but is close enough. 1366x768 to be exact, things are readable but with a huge caviant! Elements of the UI are cut off, none of it is scrollable either... The blur is real, so much blur...

Look... I get it, beta tends not to deal too much with UI as the important aspect is getting all the features in/working but in this state the game is not something I could play let alone enjoy. Trust me, I tried. The past 40 or so minutes have been fun although a tad frustrating.

So, I guess before I get rid of the game completely for now; I'd like a reply with someone that knows for certain, Will this game get scaleable interface? If not, what about mods? I've yet to looked at it might that extend to the interface and all it's elements?

Last but not least, this could be a bug with the version I run but one of my pawns had "Psychopath" as a trait that mentions them not being able to gain mood improvements via chitchat/deeptalk which is fine but I noticed that person didn't gain ANY opinion at all meaning he'd end up insulting/being insulted all the time without any way of improving that. Or... Is the idea to have a third-party shoot someones leg off so the psychopath can go out and rescue his ass for it to improve? Because, I'd do it >:]

Small addition:

I found out where the game stores the resolution so you can set it to whatever you desire and yes, It works perfectly fine. Just remember writing the values in Hexadecimals.

But didn't he just figured out how to change resolution and with it the GUI? man i feel old, i cant understand these youngsters.

I don't think you understand the difference between resolution and UI scalability... But my guess is that you didn't read everything. I mentioned a big problem, top-part of most elements are cut off. Not only that but LCD displays have a native resolution you should stick to otherwise you blur everything as you enlarge the pixel size.

My oh my, someone sure is sour. Would you have felt better If I had bought the game and 40 minutes later refunding it? Because the end result is the same. Actually that isn't true. Someone has to pay for the transactions so It'd be a real loss somewhere in the line. Minor but a loss none the less.

This is hardly a solution. It's a workaround. Some really bad side effects due to it as well (Mentioned above already.) Imagine you're watching a movie that has 5cm removed from the top. Sure, you can watch it but it is annoying and I don't know about you but I do not play games that annoy me be it a pirated, legit or even gifted games. Till that point, I guess Youtubes there to sate the Rimworld, just wish I could play it instead *Sighs*

It's obvious that I'd buy it when a proper solution comes around and that's why my question still remains. I'd say my "little" library of games can atest to that.

AFAIK there's nothing currently in the game, but I also want to point out this isn't your typical EA game. Tynan, the dev, has a polished game that's technically feature complete, now he just works on it to see where it goes and it will be marked Early Access until he's ready to stop all development on it.

If he gets enough requests for these types of things I'd imagine he'd add them.

your little library of games atests to the fact that you have the ability to pay for the items you desire. if anything, it makes the fact you stole the developer and publisher's IP even worse. but i doubt you will see it that way, so we'll leave it at that. while I'm certainly no snitch, perhaps someone will come along and take notice of your admission of piracy and violating steam's rules, and take the approprite measures.
