Does cooking mechanoids render the parts you can gain from disassembing them obsolete, or can you do both?
I just had a hive infestation in my house and killed two spelopedes, a megascarab, and a megaspider. I'm wondering whether I should disassemble them or cook them first.

You are talking about insectoids(insects) not mechanoids(robots spawned by dropped ship parts etc.).

Ahh, thanks for the clarification!

Oh ♥♥♥♥ you can cut them down? I didn't know that ha. I usually burn them and once the hive is dead cook 'em. I only gain meat from it, not whatever the bug has extra.

Just a hint: disallow insect meat in your cooking bills as colonists don't like it. Instead, use it to make kibble.

yea, insect meat gives a negative mood buff

Didn't know that either. Thanks.

Please be respectful of insects... it may be our next best food ressource soon on earth... time to use a game to get used to the idea ;-p

Huh. I eat enough insects on my sleep to be worried about it later on.
