Carrying capacity capped ?
Hello, Steam Community !

I was wandering : i used EdB Prepare Carefully to make a guy with a prosthesis arm, which increases his "manipulation" (and also his carrying capacity).
By default, without any physical injuries, a settler can carry up to 75 unit.
With an advanced bionic arm, my settler has 130% manipulation, which allows him to carry 75 x 1,3 = 97 unit... Right ?
But in this Picture, you can see he's carrying only 75 unit of steel.
So... my question is : Is the carrying capacity is capped to 75, no matter how enhenced my "Manipulation" is ?
Thank you in advance :steamhappy:

Manipulation is how fast the character can craft / construct / make food etc.. I guess the logic behind it not enabling them to carry more is down to he fact that there are still human parts underneath. e.g you can have bionic legs and arms, and in my current game bionic spine (added by one of the mods I installed maybe), but in the end there are still human like limiting factors like the hips and shoulders.

An exoskeleton is the only thing I can think on IRL that can increase a persons carrying capacity, and I saw one for sale in my current game for an extortionate amount of money hehe.. not sure if it increases capacity though, might just be a way to get around frail colonists added by one of my mods.

I haven't played the latest version unmodded so not really sure what is now part of the game / what is modded hehe, sorry.

Ive noticed that animals can only carry 75 also, my bears supposedly can carry 161, but they never carry more than 75.

It could just be something they are still working on I guess :), has been part of the game for so long I haven't really thought about it hehe.

Think it is limited to the size of stack limit as well. For instance steel is limited to stacks of 75, but hauling hay may work better as the stack limit is much higher.

Hmm that might be the case...is there a way to change the stack limit while carrying, but not when placed on the ground?

Try with silver / uranium, they stack up to 500, the problem is that steel only stacks to 75, so no matter how much they can carry, nothing happens..
(btw, try using bionic instead, it is much better)

Silver, as well as Gold or Uranium aren't as "heavy" than other ressources. 1 Unit of Silver is not equal to 1 unit of wood, by example.

It isn't a hard coded cap, just noticed :)...

thats a character with no bionics, but health buffs from the food Vegetable Garden mod adds (I think)

Edit:...unless gay characters can carry more :D

That should be because hay doesn't have the 75 stack limit size. That stacks to 200 or 500 I believe.

it is, and was the first thing I tried out with one of my bionic aided characters before replying initially.. he still just carried 75, lemme try some others :)

Wonder if they won't grab multiple stacks to carry more than 75, but perhaps if you try on a stack already larger than 75 it will work??

Think the code is kind of wonky on this a bit.

We have a winner... http://i.imgur.com/RNdwmwp.jpg, maybe the bionic guy I tested it with was just lazy or somethign :)

The 75 limit still applies if I force that 90 guy to haul anything else (I think).. makes little sense since they will haul 75 to add to two or 3 piles in one go.

dunno how to setup a scenario to test it hehe.. the only time I ever pay attention to hauling is insect jelly since that seems to be like crack to colonists :D

I have been noticing this too. It is kinda ridiculous that my colonists can drag muffalo corpses across the map with little hinderance, butcher them and carry like 175 peices of meat to the stockpile in one go, but my grizzly is incapable of carrying more than 75 corn.
