About how many coolers will cool a 20x20 room?
I'm making a freezer and one cooler doesn't seem to be enough to get the temp down to -2F. I'm short on componets at the moment so it would be awesome if someone knows how many it takes.

If it makes any difference the room is under a mountian and in the summer it gets to around 80F.

Thanks for the help.

it depends on the temperature outside

There's no reason to cool it down to -2F. -2C maybe, but -2F is beyond overkill and is a waste of power. I recommend roughly 16-20F to make sure things stay frozen when doors get opened.

As the guy before me said, it depends on the outside temperature. Personally for an area that size I'd probably set up 6 or 7. Even then, it will probably get above freezing during a heat wave.

Just want to point out that a 20x20 room for food is an absolutely massive area, and your average colony won't need even half that much space. Half the space means half the coolers to keep things cold enough.

Also, one last thing: making all the walls around the freezer double-thick (so 2 blocks instead of 1) helps a great deal in insulating it, and will make things easier on your coolers.

8 by 8 area and 2 air conditioners that's all you need for a refrigerator

when you want to expand repeat what I said again and do not get rid of the walls

With 20x20 your roof will collapse.
Use the Quantum stockpile mod to make smaller, more effective fridges.
I use a 9 by 5 room with 2 coolers and 3 quantum stockpiles, with a 3 x 5 stockpile.
They do use a lot of power though.
