Rich Soil vs. Regular Soil
I haven't really seen an explanation on the benefits that planting on Rich Soil provides? Is this a go-to must, if close to your starting position, or should I just be looking to plant on 100% fertility?

Can anyone explain the mechanics/bonuses behind Rich Soil?

This will help me determine where I want to set up future bases immediately after I land.

Raises the growth rate. Not really a must have but handy. Specially for slow crops. If you click on a plant you can see the difference.

It will take less time in game time to get from 5% (just sowed) to 100%.

I generally use rich soil to plant trees, since they take a really long time to get ready for harvest.

Corn and rice are programmed to benefit more from rich soil.

Rice loves rich soil especially and hates gravel (and other low grade soils).
Strawberries also benefit too by a fair amount. Rich soil also means you need fewer tiles to get the same overtime yield which is great should winter be comming with wargs a'plenty. Lichen covered dirt is also rich soil.
