Infinite Mining from roof falls

Sometimes when you are mining and there is only one or two blocks left no matter how many times you mine them they just drop more. You can not clear the roof and everytime you mine more falls down over and over again. It is very annoying. Any way around this?

if there is a big mountain what you expext?

Cave ins happen when there are more than 6 blocks away from a wall. So a 12x?? room is fine. Otherwise use a wall block.

It is obviously a bug. I just wanted to report it. I understand how the roof system works. I have just never encountered this infinite loop before. There is no way to remove it. Even if I put up a new support beam and then remove the last two Collapsed Ceilings it still drops more collapsed ceiling.

Yes tons but i have recreated it without mods. Its the first thing i tried when i noticed the loop. I am not under a mountain either. Its only 5 or 6 blocks.

This isnt a bug. You are mining under a mountain with nothing to support a cave in. Build a wall or a pillar.
