Wood burns, so does steel furnitures. A furniture made of blocks are not flammable, value and beauty might be close.

Wood builds very quickly, steel not as much, stone quite slowly. So it's worth considering!

wooden beds give a better resting % then stone/steel all seen in the info menu

In early stages of the game, wood is useful but walls/furnitures made of blocks are useful when there is uncontrolled forest fire.
