'Impressiveness'?
So I have a greedy colonist that had his marriage proposal turned down, now hes perpetually pissy and I want to give him the room he wants before he pops someone. But IDK what constitutes 'Impressive' here...

High quality bed, a lot of room, potted plants, a good statue, etc

" Masterwork silver royal bed in a 7x7 room will make it impressive.

The algorithm is pretty simple: it calculates factored values for each stat - wealth/3500, beauty/6, space/125 and 1+cleanliness/2.5, impressiveness=((f1+f2+f3+f4)/4 + min(f1,f2,f3,f4))/2 * 100. "

Took me a minute to google it, its not really that hard, you should try it sometimes.

TL;DR, combination of wealth, beauty, space and cleanliness.

You don't even need that large a room 4x4 is fine. Smooth floor + superior or better bed already leave colonists pretty happy. If want, you can stick in a small wooden statue, but no reason to overdo it.

You are a pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Not even funny. Not ironic. Just an ass. Congratulations?
I had a chuckle when i read this ages ago. But if you toggle on your tooltips to show how good a room is currently, it'll list the same 4 things. The toggle button is one of the many located on the bottom right of your screen UI.

Nope. 5x5 room with smoothed stone floors and legendary wooden bed - isn't enough even for basic +1 mood bonus.

From my experience so far, it's the following:
Superior wooden bed
Superior wooden chair
Superior wooden table
Plasteel door
Plasteel hi tech research table
multi-analyser
3-4 good art sculptures
8x10 room with smooth floor and proper walls.

The more stuff you put in the room the smaller it counts it as so if you plan on making it impressive make it big.
Ficelle Sep 9, 2016 @ 7:23pm
Try to go for a 9*9 or better a 10*10 room to keep 70+ free squares.

That way, you can put a bunch of stuff there to help with beauty and all.

Put the bed in the middle, not in a corner.

You don't need bed in middle.

It's related only with Spacious calculation and it's don't affect mood when colonist is asleep.

Actually placing bed in center is mistake - when they come into room to meditate/pray they will be forced to stay closer to walls - so they don't get mood bonus from room space.

As bed is walkable, it doesnt affect space perception.

Better to have your colonist walk toward middle than toward corner to sleep, plus other objects can be placed near walls more easily.

When he has sex, a colonist isnt sleeping either.

Anyway, all that is about min maxing 1 or 2 moods, nothing really important.

Yes, it's all about +/- 1 percent of mood. But I'm still disagree with central bed placement - while bed is walkable pawns never will move through it when meditating/pray if have any other option. And not all colonists have sex :)

On a small room 5*5 or 7*7, i will put bed near a wall, as you said praying and all.

On anything bigger, i put bed in the middle as there is plenty of space anyway.
