cleaning bug
just tested it and there seems to be a cleaning bug.
i have a colonist set to cleaning only. cleaning is on 1 and everything else is off.
he cleans a little bit but spents 90% off the day doing nothing. mostly wandering around.
all dirty areas are in home area and he issnt restricted.

make sure that your home area covers all places you want him to clean

Does this colonist still clean when right-clicked and forced to? Perhaps they have a trait which makes them incapable of cleaning things, like how others are incapable of labors, violence, etc. Perhaps they have the lazy trait or something.

maybe he's joy deprived or so, and is filling up his joy bar, no idea. Does it say on the right side of the screen that he's idle? In that case, I imagine it would be a bug.

like i said, all areas are within home area.
doesnt have any traits that will keep him from cleaning and yes it says that he is idle

when i force him to clean with right click he cleans for a minute and goes idle again.

its like he cant find the dirty area's.

hm just noticed something new.
there are a lot of dirty area i cant force him to clean, or anyone else.
still shows as rock rubble when i hover over it so its dirty but the system doesnt see it as something i can clean.
however if you go back there 10min later you CAN select it to be cleaned

check the perks? some colonists would rather have the eating flesh disease than be bothered to sweep the floor every day.

nope, none off the colonist can clean that spot at that moment, not even forced. while they can 10 min later. somehow the game doesnt see that spot as cleanable.
Interesting... maybe you didnt assigned them time when to work? :) Because they are sometimes lazy without it.

Probably this is a bug. But I didnt saw that. For example,if there is Blood x3 on tile, or dirt x3 on tile, you force him and he will clean up this tile 3 times and go away. He doesnt clean all, he cleans only 1 tile if you force him :D

P.S. Sometimes it is hard to right click on dirt or blood tile.

Yes,prob a bug, I dont have this.))

Having the same problem here to. Set for clean but will stop cleaning. Also noticed that putting down stone flooring makes it worse.

Peeps don't see the dirt but it is still ugly to them.

Guys, you have to assign parts of the day to "work" by default, they are "do anything"

So if they get bored, they will ♥♥♥♥-off and do anything, like cleaning. Hope this solves the issue

Just tryed that. It did not work. But exspanding the home area seems to help some... At least I can click on it and force a peep to pick up a crumb or two.

Sometimes when a colonist is doing something, you can't stop him from doing it. Check what they are currently doing when you right click, if there is no right click options they are currently busy.

WORK-A-ROUND FOUND!

First set the home area to cover all needed cleaning area.

SECOND: Save and restart the game.

Result: cleaners will pick up all litter. Still leaves some pepples but that does not effect moral.
