How to find more ancient shrines?

I wonder if there a way to loot more shrines if I run out of them in the primary map?
I tried moving caravan to empty tile, but it seems it's only possible to permanently settling there after abandoning main base (wich would be a great shame)!
I have 1 base in options set... It says its unstable to have more than 1 base, anybody tried that? How actually unstable it is?

What they mean by unstable is that the game is not really balanced around having multiple colonies, but for your stated purpose, you won't run into any issues. What I would suggest though, is that you settle a bit away from your main base before making temp settlements, since you can't path over abandoned tiles with caravans if memory serves correctly.

Set it to 2 or more, yes. Afaik it's only an issue if you're actually developing both sites at once; if you're just looting it won't be that much of an issue but you'll be leaving behind a ton of unusable locations on your map in the future.

Its not even that big of a deal to develop both sites at once, though extrapolated out toward the late game you will run into performance issues sooner due to the extra load on your machine so dont plan on two 50 pawn cities with a bunch of animals unless you like slide shows
