Mods for Steam Deck Caravans?
Hi. Rimworld is great on the steam deck, but setting up a caravan requires lots and lots of precise clicking of eeny-weeny boxes to include animals, trade items etc. Last night setting up a fairly modest caravan I was on for ages and found the setting up fiddly to the point of giving me the twitchy heebee-jeebies. The mouspead method is horrible as you have to individually click on each tiny box, Using my finger to tap instead of the mousepad was better but also quite clumsy as I'd keep missing..... then when they returned after trading, what with the new pen system (I admit I really haven't got my head around that yet) - My animals just wandered around till I tracked them down, manually dumped their stuff and told people to haul it. I can't be doing this each time, its just too time consuming and pull-my-face-off-fiddly. Could anyone recommend some mods to streamline this please??? I tend to do a lot of trading and often used to do tribal nomad runs on the main PC (pre pen system) but this is putting me off.

this is for 1.3, there is a link in the description for 1.4 mod, but it adds other stuff so thats on you but it reverts back to the zone system if you don't want to deal with pens.

that said, as long as there is a pen that allows the animal type, animal handlers will go and bring the animals to the pen, but it might take a bit if you have a ton of pack animals. there isn't a need to dump the contents and then haul, if you need the animal moved to the pen right now, select someone with animal work enabled and right click the animal and select rope or whatever the action is. if you don't have a pen, at least drop a caravan hitching sport and they will be roped and tied to it.

cant really help you on the deck problems, changing the UI scaling might help with this particular problem, but i'm sure it will introduce others.

Changing the UI might be an approach. That mod you suggest is good - it did break recently so I took it off - might try it again soon. Thanks

As a follow up to this. I couldn't change the UI but I did reduce the lag/delay whatever its called on the touchpad and though it may be a placebo - that appeared to help.
