Children's aging

Do children age quicker then adults? I've got a 6 year old daughter who's mother it 19. The mother is one of my original colonists, which means she was 15 years old at youngest when the game started. She's aged 4 years max, but her daughter has aged 6?
Even if I am wrong about the mother's starting age, as it stands now she had her daughter when she was 13. Pretty sure the game doesn't allow Lovin' till 16....

Default options have children age at 400% or 4 times faster compared to adults, up to age 13, when they turn adults and then they age at the adult rate.
Can change this by going into storyteller options, turning custom difficulty on and scrolling down.

Natural birth? Growth vats? Did your pawns spend any time in cryosleep chambers, use a biosculptor pod to be a year younger, Ageless gene, or anything like that? In Rimworld it is entirely possible to be physically older than your great great grandparents.

you can change childs growt rate and adult aging rate at custom diffuculty settings and it was said in dlc description(if i remember correctly) children will age quicker than aduts 4x times in default settings also children can be put inside of growth vat to age quicker drawback is low skill values

It took about 9 in-game years for a child to reach age 16 in my generational colony, at which point they can start breeding more children themselves. So after about 10 in-game years, your first generation pawns could be grand-parents, and after 18-20ish years, they could be great-grandparents.

That is all through natural growth and births.
If done with the growth vat, that time period could be reduced to something like 2.5 in-game years for the first set of kids to reach age 16, and 4-5 years before the birth of 4th generation. (Growth vats have 5x growth speed)
