add a if true/els argument that says "if roofed then placing (semi-see-through solar panels) is true, else placing (semi-see-throughsolar panels) = false. you get what I mean? just adding a second version of solar panels that are semi-see-through but can only be placed on tiles that are roofed.
Then it is built as usial only it would be even more opaque then the blueprint for it is and selecting it would work like any other time there is more then one thing you can select in a single tile.
Also if someone can do it. any mortar raid which does hit your "solarpanel rooftiles" it shouldn't just burn but also overload batteries, so we also got a downside for it.
I'm aware about this, but this does seem like another optional mod thingy.. because its kinda op...
You just wanted additional roof "upgrades" to build solar panels above them..
If you really want to add something, you gotta get into details buddy, pro (another kind of roof tiles)/con (roof tiles do get heavy. they do cost alot) blabla, not just "this will get us much more energy, because energy is {sarcasm on} impossibru to afford {sarcasm off}
Allowing the enemies to climb on roofs to disable them is kinda harder AI wise.
Can be placed on roofs
produces 500 when at max instead of the normal 1000.
costs the same amount of components however 50 steel. covering 4 tiles.
Must be hard linked (conduits) to the grid manually ie you will ave ugly wires in the building.
If they short circuit from an event (can normal ones?) They will cause damage to whatever is below and the roof will collapse under it destroying it and dealing lethal damage to whatever is under it if it falls, leaving a wreckage of 30 steel.
It will cause a reduction in roof stability (the walls that are 6 away will not be able to support it, there will have to be a support within 3 blocks of the panels total area)
The ups to this would be the ability to have more of them, and they would be "safer" and they would not clutter the area around them with move speed debuffs if you have to act fast and move though them. the reasoning for the -50 steel cost is the logic of "it doesnt need a larger support structure like it would on the ground" As being mounted on the roof would keep it away from the dirt and more in line with the mid day sun.
