Where are the mods you subscribe to stored?

I looked in the game folders and in the discussion forum for a clue.

No sorry. I also download the game from the dev as an early adopter/purchaser and I'd like to transfer them to that copy

I'm not sure if the steam mods and the forum mods are interchangeable, I'll have to let someone more knowledgeable field that one. Sorry

They are not interchangable. Although, you can make them interchangeable by getting them updating to the most recent code and getting permission from the creators to upload them to the workshop. If it's already updated to the most recent code then you can just do the second part.

Workshop mods location is:

...\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\294100

294100 is the ID for RimWorld, which you can see at the top in the discussions URL. The mods themselves will be in their own folder with their own ID, which you can also find in their workshop URL.

You can also install mods manually from the forums into:

...\Steam\SteamApps\common\RimWorld\Mods

And the mods are interchangeable, in a sense. You can copy a mod from the workshop mods location into the manual location and they'll work just fine (so long as you don't load both at the same time!)

If you're wanting to run mods for the DRM free version, you will need to move them into the mods folder found inside the DRM-free's install location.

Thank you all for your help I really appreciate it. It's fun to play on my l;aptop when I fly so I load both versions on the main system and laptop along with save games.
