Anything that's far away from combat zones or are a hazard in some way.
If you use wood as the stuff material, it will cost a lot less and take much less time to complete.
I always keep a good stock of wood and I make sure to have a growing area for trees that I can set to allow sowing when needed.
Aside from what's in my previous reply I also use wood to make emergency structures, because it's the fastest to build.
On one-hand, Smokey The Bear will be super pissed, but on the other it'll be clear.
