My biggest problem with this isn't the content, but the fact that it's essentially Prison architect on mars with some added bonuses.
This game is much more enjoyable than Prison Architect imo, and like Stink said when you break down cost/hours it'll be a steal.
You can't entertain yourself in the real world for cheaper not even a cable subscription.
Ante up or wait for a sale.
It would sale a little less, but far more money in the end.
The ones not happy with the price...Just like in any business, dont care...
After all, when you make a hit, better to capitalize on it, you are never guaranteed to make another.
Oh please. PA gets really boring, really fast. It doesn't have anywhere near the replayability RimWorld does.
(OK a lot of that was paused, but still.)
Come on if you think the game is worth that much add some value with your reply, the question is valid as the poster has not got the game yet and is asking about it.
Initially, I watched the trailer here on RimWorld's Steam store page and found it interesting. Then I watched lots of YouTube videos and found myself getting more and more interested in the game. It ended up costing me at least $40 to buy the game, but I think it's completely worth it. The game has met or exceeded all my expectations for a game in its Alpha stages, and the mods from the modding community only make this game even better.
If I do have a gripe with the game, it's that the success of your colony seems partially dependent on luck. There are some random number generation issues going on that seem completely unrelated to the player's actual gameplay. The game is marketed as having an 'intelligent AI director', but I'm yet to be convinced that the AI director is actually intelligent and responsive to what the player is doing as opposed to simply rolling random numbers and then calling up events based on a cooldown timer. Why should something I just built and turned off (and never used) break down and immediately need repairs instead of gaining wear and tear over continued use? Why should all your crops suddenly disappear due to a crop blight random event when there's nothing you can research or build to counter this? These are just a couple of examples where I feel the gameplay crosses into being cumbersome and tiresome rather than intelligent and compelling, but I think you get the picture.
It's DWARF FORTRESS on Mars. The only reason people are pretending this game is PA is because the sprites and graphics are alike. Gameplay wise, it's 100% DF. Because that one was first.
