You have multiple factions that (can) hate you, so the final battle being a combined effort from your hated factions leaving their numbers in ruin?
What would trigger that event to signal the end of the game?
I could see a scenario to where your ship is eventually going to re-enter the atmosphere and will crash into the planet surface, and its generator will go critical destroying the small planet...
You have a limited time to get off the planet before the end...maybe once you have a ship being built...thats when the final battle begins as the pirates want to steal your ship and leave the planet themselves?
you get bigger, more pawns, more wealth = bigger raids (if you play cassandra)
it scales up without end.
i honestly just built the starship once in some earlier alphas, never again.
By the time you can build it without effort, there isnt much the game can do to kill you.
You can skip it and continue the colony, but it is pointless at this stage, you will just grow more to grow more.
You are better to just start a new volony on harder settings or build it.
It is like in many strategy games when you know you have won, but to see the victory screen, you need to kill the last enemy peon.
for that reason there are mods with much more difficult enemy factions.
or mods like realistic lights (makes night much mire difficult) or deadly forests (makes animals and nature much more a conflict)
and countless more...
It came, my animals killed the raiders, but took heavy losses...then...a wander joined.
So...I suppose I could have just kept going, trying to survive while keeping the place running, lol.
@Mytheos - I like your ideas! It'd be cool if, as you got closer to completing your ship, other factions detected that and came in big waves to try to steal it.
