I may be wrong, but as I'm remember only chickens can lay untfertilized eggs.
But again in real life animals "do incest" as well. (lol patch notes) but I can understand how it'd get out of control if they did.
Personally though I'd rather see it balanced by allowing incest but having a high chance of birth defects to keep the reproduction rates more reasonable.
So if you kept inbreeding your animals, you'd end up with a situation to where the majority would be born missing limbs, or still born.
So it'd be more realistic and wouldnt be overpowered.
