Psychic shock lance OP lol
Used it to take down the mechanitor bosses ... they go down with just one zap.

Hilariously broken. A measly 700 silver to buy them, they're not even that rare and you get two charges out of them. That's two dead bosses.

Im both complaining and not complaining lmao

should be a bug they are imune to normal psi insanity/berserk.

Yeah, I'll need to test that in my game to see if it works. No other abilities work against them, so I'd definitely count it as a bug if in vanilla you can just down them with a shock lance.

They get less OP once you start fighting more bosses and mechs at once. The boss mechs themselves arent even the issue most of the time, its the swarms of mechs they come with.

Shock Lances arent the same as Insanity Lances

As far as I can tell the only immunity any of the bosses has is that Apocriton is immune to skips. If any of them are immune to insanity lances I don't see where that is defined. Generally shock and insanity lances only check target psychic sensitivity, the super heavy mechs have 75% psychic sensitivity but if it's above 0% they should be susceptible to the lances.

I haven't checked in game, just glanced at the files.

They are 100% immune to insanity lances

War Queen, Centurion, and Diabolus are immune to most psychic abilities such as skip. You can use abilities like Stun on them at reduced effect though. I'm really not sure, I had just assumed that psychic shock lances wouldn't work against them so I hadn't tried.

Seems to take affect for about 3 in game hours. Thats about 120 seconds without having to deal with the boss. So it buys time, but doesn't outright kill the boss (ofc). Insanity lances work, and set them to "agression judgement scrambled", and at a reduced time.
some psycasts prevent targeting the bosses because they are "too big". Berserk still works, it's just the skipcasts.

it doesn't outright kill them but it's definitely a game changer if you can take out the boss for 3 hours straight (6 hours with 2 charges on a shock lance). Diabolus' heliocannon thingy destroying your cover? zap, no longer an issue. War Queen spawning a tonne of little war urchins? Nope, she's stuck in labor now! Apocriton jumping behind your lines and resurrecting everything in sight? I don't think so.

Now all you have to do is take care of the lesser mechanoids which usually aren't a big deal at all. The reason the smaller guys are so deadly is because the big guys support them in one way or another. Diabolus blowing away your cover, Apocriton resurrecting the dead mechanoids and war queen just flooding your defenses with cannon fodder. When they are taken out of the equation, it just becomes a normal mech raid where you gang up on the downed boss at the end.

Not sure if shock lance was intended to be used like this but it sure as hell is hilarious.

Would be more balanced if it only lasted 60 seconds or so instead of a full 3 hours.
