Report a translation problem
Allied factions will regularly send support in combat as well. Even tribal allies are a great asset against mechanoids. The catch is that it's inconsistent unless you call them and request immediate military aid, which costs relation points with them.
Then again sometimes if there's, say, a caravan on the map that's at war with the ally, they'll decide to attack the caravan instead. Then it gets awkward.
But, not for the sake of assistance during raids.
The best way they can assist you is by becoming one less Faction that may raid you ;)
Plus, there's always a moment sometimes when you could really use a shipment of something you're temporarily short of and a friendly Faction can help you bridge the gap in production.
