My game has been going for somewhere around two decades. Some polluted areas which were at 100% when the map was generated are down to 88%. I don't know if that is because they are still spreading or if it is due to natural decay.
The game keeps track of how much pollution is in a map tile. If a map tile is 100% polluted and there are still toxins on that map, it will begin polluting adjacent map tiles.
I want to see if I can clean it all up. I am guessing I would need to go tile by tile and install the toxic atomizer and then the toxic pump to gather and destroy it... for every single map tile!
Maybe there will be an easier way to clean up from the world map, like a caravan with a cleaning outpost option of they have certain gear. I could see that as a neat mod with a cool end game goal.
And it seems like you guys are saying that it is possible to control pollution overall if you wanted to. Is that true?

i like playing on 95-100% pollution tiles for my sanguophage scenario RPing it as an exile.
