No these aren't silly questions, its just troubleshooting. I've checked and no it doesn't seem to be the case. my colonists can access the gestator just fine and mechs are allowed in there. I only have two colonists (mechanator and his wife) so its definitely not a problem with the job set up. Still doing mod checks...
I'm having the same problem you were now. I was hoping whatever solution you found would work for me too, but it did not.

I'm currently going through and disabling them one by one with no luck, starting with Common Sense. Did you do anything else that could've been the fix?
No, it's not the sidearms mod. It was only Common Sense. You have to remove the conflicting mod before beginning the process, not before finishing it. She couldn't finish the process because she never put the corpse INTO the mech gestator, it was sitting on top of it.
