Pregnancy Timelines/Odds
So I'm only dipping my toe into the new DLC and my colony has a 41 year old man (Fertility 100%) and a 36 year old woman (33%) - they're sharing a bed, "gettin' some lovin'" on the reg and set to Try For Baby (Pregnancy Chance x400%). They've been at this for about 20 days now with no sign of a pregnancy.

Have they just been unlucky with virtual dice rolls and should they persevere or is there something likely to be afoot? I don't use a lot of mods, just a character editor and a couple of extended wildlife packs.

i think its just combination of relatively high age and bad luck. my 22-25 year olds with 100% fertility still took almost a week to get pregnant and they did some lovin' 7 times each night. So 20 days without pregnancy with your pawns age is nothing yet.

Thanks Maltsi. It's good to get that sort of reassurance. I'll let them at it for another while yet then. Initially the 41 year old man hooked up with the 42 year old woman but when I realised her fertility was only 5.3% I had him romance the younger woman (the colony could use the sound of childish laughter I feel). The 42 year old woman hasn't taken the rejection particularly well but we all have to do our bit for the continuation of the story!

Dumbass question here, but how did you see her fertility? I am desperately trying to get more population to my Colony, but my colonist couple just do not re-produce D:

I just figured it out myself, click the pawn, and click the View Information button (the lowercase and bold i to the right of their name) and scroll down to the end of the first section.

Let me know if you do manage to find a pregnancy in your colony - still no luck for my pair.

It just happened - at 1am on the 6th of Aprimay, 5501 pregnancy FINALLY landed in our colony. Feel free to send flowers and gifts to the expectant parents.

I have 2 pawns that are 24F and 31M - they became lovers, got married and have fertility on 100% - they have been married for 2 years now - happy and healthy and not once have they tried to produce offspring. They have a double bed and set to 'try'... I have to assume it's wildly random

You can also just get the tech to extract ovum and then have a male colonist fertilize it. Instant on demand human making.

I also just gestate it in a vat and grow them to age 3 to skip the pointless part of development.

But that would not be possible for any pre industrial or tribal scenarios. Vats also seem much more min maxing than pregnancies especially during the first couple years into the colony

I did one pregnancy before I switched over. The tech for genetics stuff seemed surprisingly easy to reach.

I think that the pregnancy might need adjusting. I havent checked their fertility, but the couple in my colony have been screwing on the reg and the only baby I have is a result of me extracting a colonists eggs and then fertilising them with a pig man.

Based on my original scenario in the original post on this thread I'd say it took about 26 days before the pregnancy occurred. Now that I know it works I'm okay with that timeline (especially given her fertility which has dropped to 30% now) but it was a but of a chore waiting for it without any real sense of how it was likely to work.
