biotech need some more time in the oven
the DLC needs a lot more fixes before it's worth even buying I just refunded it cuz it runs like crap for me I don't have the ideology DLC I only have royalty and biotech and I refunded biotech I'll try it again in the future when it actually works

try to make a super character with the genetics makes the game crash also the children are super buggy their graphic still always load and sometimes the game doesn't load if you start with the kids when you're making a new colony

I'm getting prompt errors even without mods installed

Had no such errors here, only animals that won't attack for some reason.

Haven't had a single error or error prompt thus far. So i would guess that it might be on your end, did you try verifying your files and all the normal stuff?

Sounds like your install is borked to hell. You may need to manually wipe any files on your system and do a fresh install. Uninstall the game on steam and then find the RimWorld file folder on your computer and delete any files that remain, then do a reinstall and all of those problems should be fixed.

If you're loading any save games, particularly ones that had mods in use (and even saves without), that can cause issues. Is this happening in a fresh game?

I'm having no such issues at all in the current play through. There's a lot of new mechanics to learn and I'm having fun playing around.

I agree the genetic portion of the game could needed more baking time; I have hopes that 1.5 will be a polishing update for Biotech like 1.2 were a polishing update for Royalty. However, I haven't experienced any of the instability issues you mention.

Havent crashed once since I installed the game, even gene modified one of my guys as a test at the start, My colony had been growing ever since. No performance issues or anything.

Have you checked on your end if there might be something else causing it?
I know that my own PC can have issues on low space left.

As for the actual genetics part... I dont know. I think its fine the way it is. It gives modders some playroom to expand on it if they want to. But hey thats just my opinion ^^

dunno if that's a bug but i have an "impressive playroom" although my kids NEVER goes in there to play with the toys in it ...

I haven't had any errors, no crashes, haven't seen any bugs, performance is great, sounds like a you problem. Disabled mods can cause errors if there is something wrong with their about info or package ID. A "reinstall" doesn't fix issues caused by you putting junk in your game folders, for that you need to manually delete all game files and then do a file verification.

Playing is for babies not children. An adult will play with a baby when set to childcare, and being near toys increases the effect of that play. Once they age up to 3 or 4 or whatever and start moving around on their own they no longer care about playing, they switch over to wanting to learn which is an entirely different mechanic.
