Step 2. Have power for said recharger.
Step 3. Set mech group to recharge. (Or skip the first 2 and set mech group to dormant recharge, takes forever though)
Step 4. Have a hauler to remove the waste from said recharger if it gets full.
What I was doing wrong in the beginning was waiting till it ran out of power then having my Colonist take him to the charger. Its best to have one of your mech groups set to recharge then just manually assign them to recharge when its not doing anything. (THOUGH I WISH THEY WOULD AUTO RECHARGE WHEN IDLE, SURE WOULD MAKE SENSE)
Really? They don't recharge even after you set the MECH GROUP to recharge? Sounds like a mod conflict then.
Make sure the pathway to your recharger is clear
Get your Mech guy to carry them to the recharger (its possible it could be a range issue)
make sure to clear any waste from the recharger (they look like green garbage bags)
When you click on the grouping for the lil mechs theres ''work'' and ''recharge'' try selecting the recharge order
Click on your mechanitor, where you see "Group 1" or "Group 2" and such, you'll see 2 icons in the top right of the little blue box, click the one that looks like a lightning bolt with lines on the side of it. I originally thought this was the disconnect button so I didn't touch it, but its actually the automatic recharging feature I've been looking for. Make sure you don't have both bracket thingies dragged to the same percentage or they'll start and stop at that percentage constantly.
not manual charging no
If you set their charge limit to a certain threshold i.e 20-60% then whenever they go below 20 they will automatically seek out a charger
though in saying that if they hit 0% or are stuck then you can always pick them up and carry one to a charger
