mechs refusing to be recharged (biotech)
for some reason the mechs in the new biotech update WILL NOT CHARGE. even of you set their group to recharge they will not charge. they stand there for a moment then run out of power again. as far as i can tell im the only one with this issue with no idea how to fix it

Step 1. Have a recharger.
Step 2. Have power for said recharger.
Step 3. Set mech group to recharge. (Or skip the first 2 and set mech group to dormant recharge, takes forever though)
Step 4. Have a hauler to remove the waste from said recharger if it gets full.

What I was doing wrong in the beginning was waiting till it ran out of power then having my Colonist take him to the charger. Its best to have one of your mech groups set to recharge then just manually assign them to recharge when its not doing anything. (THOUGH I WISH THEY WOULD AUTO RECHARGE WHEN IDLE, SURE WOULD MAKE SENSE)

iv done all this. as soon as they get on the charger they just get off it immediately

Really? They don't recharge even after you set the MECH GROUP to recharge? Sounds like a mod conflict then.

Is your recharger fully within the allowed area of the mech ? Not just its interaction spot ?

ye make sure all your rechargers have power
Make sure the pathway to your recharger is clear
Get your Mech guy to carry them to the recharger (its possible it could be a range issue)
make sure to clear any waste from the recharger (they look like green garbage bags)

When you click on the grouping for the lil mechs theres ''work'' and ''recharge'' try selecting the recharge order

there isnt any waste because they are not charging. there is plenty of space and yes they are powered

I've recently found a little hidden setting that might be the reason.

Click on your mechanitor, where you see "Group 1" or "Group 2" and such, you'll see 2 icons in the top right of the little blue box, click the one that looks like a lightning bolt with lines on the side of it. I originally thought this was the disconnect button so I didn't touch it, but its actually the automatic recharging feature I've been looking for. Make sure you don't have both bracket thingies dragged to the same percentage or they'll start and stop at that percentage constantly.

What mods are you using?

Dude you might kick yourself like i did i had them set to a zone outside their chargers because they kept getting killed in fights and i forgot about it. check youve not set any zones for them

LOL Wait wait wait.. The Biotech Mechanoids require manual charging? Seriously? That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of in terms of changing canon and lore of a faction. How do they survive and exist as the boogieman of the game, if they can't auto charge in the daylight?

works for me, so i guess its a mod conflict.

Check you have not set their upper charge limit to 1%. You can set the upper and lower limits, I run mine at 40%-75%. They charge more often but don't charge as long.

not manual charging no

If you set their charge limit to a certain threshold i.e 20-60% then whenever they go below 20 they will automatically seek out a charger

though in saying that if they hit 0% or are stuck then you can always pick them up and carry one to a charger
