Can you get more than 1 mechlink?

Lets say you lost the first mechlink you get from the quest, can you get more?

Yes. You can even have multiple Mechanitors in the same colony at once.

Do you need the quest to craft them?
I'm playing the mechanitor scenario, so i started with one. I would really like to get more, but I haven't received any quest in that regard and i also can't find anything on my map.
I can't craft them anywhere, though i allready have the highest mech research.

I don't think you can craft them (not completely sure since i haven't gotten a Mechinator all the way to the end), but i got 1 from calling down a ancient mechinator shuttle using a transponder i found on my map and another from a quest (something along the lines of investigating a ancient mechinator base).

mechaniators are questspecific as they require a specifc implant. said implant can be triggered via quests.

one quest is available right away via the derelict exostrider on your map (the mechanitor scenario doesnt have this event as they pretty much are said person) and beyond that you can get quests called Mechaniator Crypts that function the same way just off your map.

No, you don't.
As Hoki said, you can get it via quest (Derelict Exostrider, Mechanitor crypts or derelict ship).
You'll see a mechanitor body, loot it and voila! Mechlink ready to implant on a pawn.

There are quest mexhanator complex. There you can find corpse of another mexhanator. Its pretty random. So you can have multiple mechanators only based on luck.
