Is there a way to make/obtain a mechanitor brain implant

i want to have my normal colony but also have a mechanitor around, is it possible to start with a normal colony but obtain a brain implant later on?

there is a map event (an ancient exostrider mech) that triggers the mechanitor quest. by the looks of it its spawning on your starting map (at least it did for my test runs for the vampire scenario)

By the way the implant is described, you can take it from someone who has one, through lethal means.
