Mech Recharge Time
Its so SLOW. It takes like a full week to charge a mech from 5% to 100%, is there a way to speed this up later?

not that I've found
make more charge stations to have multiple going in parallel

once you have 10 mechs its barely noticeable

Early game mechs seem to suck ass

I already want a mod to make the charge speed faster, some mechs feel like theyre charging more than theyre actually working. It also seems like a huge pain to sync up pairs of them so that one is always fully charged by the time the other one is ready to recharge.

It wouldnt be so bad if you could force them to recharge while idle so they arent just running around draining energy while doing nothing.

full week? Takes mine 2 days at a charge station, then I get 10 days work out of them. I would like to know if they'll go and charge themselves when they need to rather than me micro-managing them though.

A full week was an exaggeration but its definitely closer to a week than it is to 2 days. I wouldnt mind it so much if there was a faster recharge station that you could upgrade to but it looks like that's not an option.

i do believe discharge rate depends on what they are doing shortening the duration

Militor on guard stance keeps charging while overseer gets attacked. Lost 2 games same way, they go charge during raids, it's stupid. They should die saving their master, I would code them that way at least, what's the point otherwise? They should sacrifice, even self destruct and explode to save their master. I can control a human but can't order my robot to help me? this behaviour should be revisited.

you know you can draft them right?
Aranador Oct 21, 2022 @ 6:50pm
I have not had too much chance at playing yet, I would much prefer that they go charge without prompting when they're at about 25 pct, but obviously prioritize fighting over charging when there ar hostiles, or fires, or other emergencies.

You can 'draft' them so I think that is the answer to them running off to charge.

they dont do much when you draft them anyway. pretty weak

Really? go check, overseer downed, button disabled, instant kidnap while they.. charge, on guard mode.. for real? Behaviour should be, on guard stance, overseer under attack, stop charging and engage.

I just put all the combat mechs into their own group and set them to dormant charge whenever they arent needed for defense. They havent needed to use a charging station a single time yet and if you set that control group so that its only allowed in a specific area, theyll automatically walk back there once you switch them back to dormant charge from escort.

correct. drafting them prevents their automated behavior. as long as they stick close to their operator you can use them just fine. tjat way they should not run off on their own mid combat.

as for charging itself: mechs are put into groups which you can assign roles to and adjust the charge threshold for the entire group.

Why did you even have your mechanitor in a situation where they can be downed without already having their mech escorts with them?
Hoki Oct 21, 2022 @ 7:01pm
they are classified as simple robots. they CANT think for themselves. if the mechanitor goes down you lose control and they revert to their default settings. problem is intentional by design therefore learn to deal with it.
