Revenue
In February 2018, it was announced by Sylvester that RimWorld had sold over a million copies.[38] By August 2020, it was estimated that RimWorld had accumulated well over 100 million dollars in revenue, making it one of the most popular indie games on Steam.[39]
Revenue always goes directly to the devs. Thats the part they always take into account. 30% isnt some kind of 'fee' valve asks prior, you know?
Many AAA companies give more content then indie games do, and are infact cheaper in price.
If you had looked at the source instead of blindly quoting stuff you'd have even seen:

Okay?
So if you're right.
That still means with two additionial expansions, more expansive then base game, ya know, is well over 100 mill to this date and doesnt change much at all, so good luck, okay?
They made a product that has been very popular and justifies them spending more time to make dlc`s. The time they take, costs money and maybe that dlc wont be as good or maybe people will just move on to another game, so they have to set a price which if their probable sales works in their favour then they will make profit and be able to pay their bills and maybe make more dlc.
If you made a product that was very popular, wouldnt you want paid for your time and effort?
Its not like they forced anyone to buy their product at full price, or at any price, so why complain?
If they make profit , its a good thing. Maybe they will make more games or just keep making dlc for this one.
You remind me of one of those idiots trying to play CP2077 on a toaster and complain because it wont run at 100fps.
The game and the dlc`s are well worth full price. The company deserves the money they earned.
And I thought that was completely fair, so this all makes sense to me.
Meanwhile in reality people doing bare min with like 68% customer satisfation raiting going "♥♥♥♥♥ I been here a year give me a raise or I walk!" Then getting home going "oh hell no this guy wants me to pay for him to create quality work! ♥♥♥♥ off I work hard for my money, you got enough now you give me free ♥♥♥♥ so I can have more money and refuse to pass it forward!"
All those staff members who never come to work in an emergency, call in sick when they feel like it, only get to work right on the minute they start and leave as soon as they can, put in the bare minimum effort to look like they're working, and stay employed simply because going through the hiring process is a nightmare for everyone so managers can't be bothered.
If you've never worked with someone like that I've got some bad news for you... you don't get games for free just because you don't understand money.
