Since the update I've got 99 mods working properly and I'm probably not going to get 200 working in total until modders get more familiar with 1.4.
So my advice is threefold:
1. be less ambitious with what you want in terms of modding
2. give up and play only the vanilla game
3. if you're willing to spend some time loading 1 or 2 mods at a time, trying a dev quicktest and then taking note of what functions and what doesn't, you can download Rimpy mod manager and do the work of figuring out what's broken and what's useable.
Having the game work, but no map shows up at all. Then after a while the pawns die off.
So it's nothing to do with mods.
