Sensory Mechanites
How do I get rid of them? They used to go away with enough tends (300% quality total tends) but now they seem permanent. Even the Dev menu doesn't have a hediff remover anymore... Please help.

You got the disease mixed up for muscle parasites. Sensory mechanites just go away with time, you have to cope while it lasts.

what is the average tend quality of the doctor doing the work? make sure you have a proper medical facility or it will take absolute ages to fix, along with a skilled doctor.

for example, if you keep getting low quality tends the average length of the mechanites can last for ages, where as max tends with glitterworld meds can take as little as three with someone skilled enough.

Average 70% quality. Doc is level 10. I guess this a good reason to finally build a hospital..

make a hospital, make sure the beds are at least normal quality, and get some vital's monitors, than plate the floor in sterile tile, keep in mind it can take a day for a pawn to be ready for another treatment, so low quality tends will make mechanites take longer to remove.

also make sure no one get's the floor dirty it messes with the infection chance of the hospital.

Edit: make sure you know what Disease and it's mechanics your working with, check the wiki.

Well, how long!? It's been at least an in-game week since Randy blessed 'em with it...

from the wiki:

Sensory Mechanites give massive boosts to certain stats, but also give a large increase to Rest Fall Rate. The pain's Consciousness reduction will slightly reduce a pawn's actual effectiveness, and gives negative moodlets to most colonists. However, this "disease" is useful if these stats are important, like a Social pawn.

Treatment does not cure the disease, it only prevents the pain from worsening. The mechanites will only be cured with time, and will remain for the same length regardless of what you do.

Note that the pain will incapacitate pawns with the Wimp trait. You can install the painstopper implant, inject them with Go-juice, or use the Painblock psycastContent added by the Royalty DLC to negate the pain, making them motile.

The only cure for this disease is time; it will fade in 1-2 quadrums.

I have 800+ hours in game, I know how to handle it. Thanks, but I'm just confused since the 1.4 update seems to have changed some of the mechanics around.

Maybe I am just forgetting how it works since it has been awhile since I got it...

But this still doesn't answer why the hediff remover seems to have disappeared from the Dev menu

Sensory mechanites are stupidly annoying, but if you can find a way to negate the pain it can be useful, but still just give them something for the pain to numb it and cope, it's the game being an ass.

It's only activated through God Mode now, and you remove the hediffs directly from the pawn's health tab.

Frankly, if I get either of the parasites early I just remove it; I can't be bothered with that kind of multi-quadrum annoyance when I've got a colony to build.
