Charging takes forever (2% per game hour) !
I just started playing the game and I put a charging station inside my base. For some reason one of the bot let himself completely run out of a charge and I had to manually grab him and put it on the charger. However it takes forever I mean DAYS to fully charge a single one.

Are we supposed to have a charging station per bot ? Is it supposed to take forever to recharge ? It's 2% per in game hour right now. That means 50 in game hours to charge 1 bot from zero ? Really ?

I'm not sure exactly how bad it really is but yeah it's about a few percent per hour. It takes a little more than day for them to recharge. That said, they're also up and about for roughly 4 days straight before running out of juice.

These aren't Tesla speed chargers. They're like feeding its blood stream composed of chemicals with the electric charge. It's next gen ... or something ... idk it involves a lot of trash creation in any case.

Mechs can work non-stop for 10 days (longer if they wander without a job to do), but it takes them 2 days to recharge! Oh no! I can't believe how absurd an 83% uptime is! Humans spend a third of every day sleeping! Really?

Is it really 10 days? I know it's quite a few days but 10 days seems longer than I thought.

Doing a job takes 10% charge per day. Wandering takes 3% charge per day. Military mechs are considered to always be working if they aren't dormant because they're fancy or something. If a mech is damaged, charge is consumed in the repairing process, which is the only reason they would need to charge more often than 10 days.

I've never actually checked so I'll take your word for it since you seem to be quite specific in the numbers.

Ah wait now I think I know why I came up with 5 days ... when you first land, your mechs start with 50% which is indeed 5 days worth of charge. Silly me.

It's a game man, not real life. Stop being so condescending. I want to play with bots in a video game and find it annoying that it takes 2 full days to recharge.

Just set the recharge so that it starts at 50%, then they just take 1 day to recharge (Work 5 days, recharge one). Heck you can even set it so that recharge every day for a very short time.

Any time you click on your mech it tells you there energy drain/charge. -10%/day is clearly displayed on the bottom right panel. And charging is 50%/day is when there on the charger.

I for one am very glad they dont instant charge. In so sick if the OP Android/robot mods that just let them tap a powerful cable for half a second and there good for another few days.
I'm also ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ecstatic that damage has to be repaired instead of magic nanties healing over time BS. Really sets them apart as mechanical. Something iv been saying all the android and robot mods need to do.

Then charge them more often.. change the slider to not let them get below 60% or something.

Idk man, seems fine to me. It's an alternative to pawns that you don't need to feed or keep happy. Seems balanced to me.

Can always grab misc robots mod if you want them different

On my mech playthrough, i had my military mechs on shutdown and in their own group. FYI, all mechs can recharge when they're powered down. It's really slow, like 1%/hr or something.
By the time we get a raid, they mostly 100%.

I'm sure there will be a mod soon enough to change charge rates. Hell, you may want to search, there may already be one!
Fyredrakon Oct 27, 2022 @ 3:08pm
It takes 2 days to fully charge any mech from 0 to 100%. They drain at 10% a day while working and 2% a day while idle.
