so only one mechlink per run?
can i have more mechlink to have more than 1 mechanitor? and its possible to give a normal pawn an mechanitor gear so they can control mechs without being a mechanitor?

There's a random event to go raid a dead Mechanitor base to steal the mechlink from their corpse. It's up to your luck to pop the quest. The mechlink is required for mechs, the armor does nothing on it's own. Think of the mechlink as the keys to your shiny new murder-car.

Yep, I've got two mechanitors (although with the mechanitor scenario). Presumably there's no limit to how many mechanitor quests there are, but I only have gotten one. It may be hard capped at 2 mechanitors for all I know.

I don't think so. I also expect a mod soon to allow crafting of the gear akin to the psylink crafting/buying mods

If you make one mid game, do they get the recluse trait? I think they start with it in the mechanitor start, right?

I never got the random quest but on every map I play on there is a downed mech with a flashing red light, if you walk a pawn near it you get a quest to destroy it and inside is a mechlink. I have a mechanitor but since my colony is tribal right now I cannot build the charging stations so once his mechs run out of power they will be disabled. I think that mech is on every starting map now to get people into the mechanitor part of the game faster.

To answer the OP have you tried clicking on the scenario editor red x to enter the editor? You should be able to type in the number of starting pawns, number of total available pawns and pretty much everything in the scenario including amount of starting food, resources and weapons. I have done tribal starts with 10 pawns before.

When you add more starting pawns do not forget to add more starting food and starting weapons as well.

But how do i get more Mechlinks then ? When i play the Mechanitor start ? only ofer the Quests that apear only once ?

The mechanitor starting scenario is the only time that the Recluse trait is forced.

For me it was a random complex spawn that had a 2nd link. Might be pure rng. But you might be able to use religion events to spawn them like other complex tiles.

They are seeming like a 1-2 per run though unless you cheat more in.

its like the other buddy said, its rng but its possible.
i got 3 counting the guaranted one, if you want extra ones you have to pray for rnJesus

If you already have a mechlink or mechanitor a quest to obtain another one comes up an average of every 4 years. Otherwise if you don't it, it has an average to show up every year.
